Teach Overseas | Year-Long Adventures

Life Overseas is an Adventure!

What can happen in a year? Just about anything when you teach overseas! You can explore new places, invest in deep friendships and make a practical difference in people’s lives. Most importantly, you can be a light in a place that needs hope and peace. We offer opportunities to teach conversational English and K-12 subjects in Czech Republic, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, North Africa, Russia, Slovakia and Vietnam. Year-long adventures begin with training in late-July and continue through the spring of the following year. All teachers raise a modest amount of financial support. Each person's journey is different — keep reading to learn more about the core experience of a year-long adventure with TeachOverseas.

Exploring

You will have ample opportunities to explore your host country. On weekends, we encourage you to enjoy local sight-seeing with students and teammates. Shopping in bustling outdoor markets and colorful bazaars will become second nature in no time!

Teaching

As a Christian teacher, you can improve people's lives and help them realize their dreams. We carefully select partnerships with public and private universities, high schools, language centers and elementary schools. We limit class sizes and the number of hours you teach to ensure the best learning environment possible.

Sharing

When you teach overseas for a year, you make the day-in and day-out investments that build trust and genuine friendships. Your consistent service in the spirit of Christ's love will be a living testimony in itself. You will also have natural opportunities to engage in life-changing discussions with students and colleagues.

Ministry was being with students, loving them, showing them that I am more than just someone who gives out grades.

Living

Schools provide "cozy" furnished apartments that you will likely share with a teammate. You will receive a modest salary that should be enough for you to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Most housing includes kitchen facilities, but we encourage you to go out and sample the local cuisine!

Living in China challenged me to live more simply and I love it now!

Refreshing

Our leadership team does its best to provide periodic times of spiritual nourishment and refreshment. Retreats are significant times of connection and renewal. Visits from the home office staff also provide needed guidance and encouragement.

The fellowship at the retreat was very sweet. It was quite special to spend time with teachers who I have not seen since training in the US. It was especially encouraging to see how everybody is growing and seeing God move through their experiences so far.
