Explore Historic Hungary
Hungary is a land rich in culture and natural beauty. Teaching in Hungary can lead to new discoveries in this storied country's old-world traditions. Our teachers' have crushed grapes at harvest festivals, basked in celebrated thermal spas, and savored gourmet meals seasoned with local paprika.
The most rewarding experience by far is getting to know the Hungarian people and their complex history and culture. Your genuine faith and committed service can be a refreshing sign of hope to your students and community. You will most likely teach high school students who know some English but need to practice in order to become fluent. Your service can make a significant difference in the lives of Hungarian students!

Director's Notes
A note from our Central Europe Regional Director:I recently visited our teachers in beautiful Budapest and in the quaint town of Vac. It was terrific to catch up with the teachers and hear their updates about students, colleagues and neighbors.
In Vac, Sarah and Joanna took me to their favorite pizza place and later I tasted some amazingly delicious hot chocolate at the best little chocolate shop. In Budapest, Matt (who has taught for TeachOverseas for two years) is participating in his school's musical: Grease. It is all in Hungarian and Matt, who plays "the coach," practiced his six Hungarian lines as we took the metro downtown.
All our teachers in Hungary are at high schools. Students are pre-intermediate to advanced in their English skills. Classroom management can sometimes be challenging, but the students I observed were well-behaved and enjoyed the fun activites the teachers prepared.
We can't tell you how glad we are that we said "yes" to TeachOverseas; we consider our experiences in Hungary as some of the best of our lives.
