Learning to Teach
We devote mornings to helping you become an excellent teacher. Discover how to plan effective lessons, engage students’ attention, and much, much more. Compelling speakers involve you in the learning process and model successful teaching methods. For our year-long program, we organize evening classes at local churches so you can practice teaching non-native English speakers in an encouraging environment. Individualized feedback accelerates your progress as a professional teacher.

Cross-cultural Adjustment
Where should you sit at a formal Chinese banquet? How do you catch a mini-bus in Kazakhstan? What essential item do you need in a grocery store in the Czech Republic? We use hilarious skits and creative activities to help you learn the ins-and-outs of your host country's culture. Come to training and get the tools you need to thrive in your host country, and have a ton of fun with us in the process!

Living in Christian community can be one of the most satisfying and joyful aspects of your overseas experience. The friends you make at training often become friends for a lifetime. Location
Training takes place on the beautiful campus of William Carey International University (WCIU) in Pasadena, California. Convenient housing and breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the support amount. WCIU is minutes away from charming "Old Town" Pasadena and is approximately 30 minutes away from downtown Los Angeles, local beaches and other site-seeing destinations.
